Fan favorites is not a way to determine who is stronger or/ and weaker. It is clearly shown that Gai and Kisame are evenly matched, afterall Kisame has a large ammount of chakra. Gai-sensei would probably win, but he doesn't actually have to open the 8th gate, afterall Gai is matched up with Kakashi but then that makes an interestign point here by using a simple equation. Gai = Kakashi < Sasuke = Deidara < Itachi. Also note that Kisame + Itachi < Jiraiya = Orochimaru < Sasuke. Confusing right? Yes, it is. Overall I think that it would be pretty even since Kisame would be somewhere between the strength of Sasuke and Gai. But thats just my view of it. Also note that Kisame isa S-ranked missing-nin. S-ranked missing-nin are pretty much as strong as a kage. [/center] |

Mmm no... Itachi and Kisame probably could've taken out Jiraiya.
Jiraiya<Orochimaru, and
Orochimaru<Itachi
And I doubt Kisame and Gai are evenly matched... they were evenly matched when Kisame was at 30%...

Well, Gai is one of my Fav characters, but i have to say Kisame. As they are right now, Kisame would beat him.

Despite the awesomeness that is Gai Kisame wins this one. Kisame is an akatsuki member, feared s-rank ninja and was a member of the seven swordsmen of the mist. You don't get those ranks for nothing now do you. Gai is a jonin. Not only that, but kisame's power level has been shown to beyond that of Gai. Sure, Gai has his gates and speed, but those gates come with a VERY nasty drawback remember(Um....death.). Kisame however has been shown to have a MASSIVE chakra pool, and a wide aray of suiton jutsu that he can use anywhere(not just near water) because he can create water himself. Not only that, but seeing as Kisame weilds a sword, he is skilled in Taijutsu as well. He may not be a full taijutsu fighter like Gai, but his blade skills, combind with deadly jutsu and a massive chakra pool(which makes spaming said jutsu easy for the fish man) Kisame could take down Gai despite his speed. After all, a good water prision could compleatly negate Gai's whole fighting style. So this battle gose to Kisame.
