Uh, i'm not an officer, i'm just a lowly seaman apprentice. But by the time i'm done with school, I'll be a petty officer 3rd class. Thats a jump of 2 paygrades. Oh, and we don't have Privates, the equivalent of that in the Navy is a Ensign.

Yep... Terms you hear are most common in Army, Marines etc. Neavy and Airforce (I believe...) have different terms. No, I'm not part of the military, it's that my brother are serving in the Army and MY grandfather serve in Army. My uncle retired from Police Service!
